La Giralda

La Giralda es el monumento emblemático de Sevilla. Este minarete de estilo Almohade fue construido por los Moros entre 1184 y 1197 hasta una altura de 76 metros. En 1586, después de la reconquista, los cristianos añadieron el campanario, alcanzando una altura de casi 100 metros.
Construido en el siglo XII, el minarete (96 m) de la antigua mezquita estaba coronado por tres bolas doradas que desaparecieron en el siglo XIV debido a un terremoto.

Se puede subir hasta el campanario (70 m) por una rampa de 34 tramos anchos y poco inclinados, hecho así para que se pudiera subir hasta en caballo. Tómeselo con calma y disfrute de las vistas sobre el patio de los Naranjos,las gárgolas y pináculos de la Catedral y sobre los Reales Alcázares. 
La figura del Giraldillo corona la torre, simbolizando la fé y que cumple la misión de veleta (giralda), que finalmente dió nombre a la torre.
Para acceder a la Giralda tendremos que hacerlo por la Catedral y pagar la entrada a ella.



The Giralda is the emblematic monument of Seville. This minaret was built by the Moors between 1184 and 1197 to a height of 76 meters.
In 1586, after the Reconquest, christians added the bell tower, reaching a height of almost 100 meters.
Built in the twelfth century, the minaret of the old mosque was vrowned by three golden balls which disappeared in the fourteenth century due to an earthquake.
You can climb up to the bell tower by a ramp of 34 wide and slightly inclined sections, made this so that they could climb up on horseback.
Take it easy and enjoy the views over the Patio de los Naranjos, gargoyles and pinnacles of the cathedral and the Alcazar.
